Photograph and drawing collection, 1862-1986, bulk 1864.

Consists of photographs and engineer drawings of structures in Nashville, Tennessee and Chattanooga, Tennessee, most taken during the Federal army occupation. Collected by James Hoobler, executive director of the Tennessee Historical Society, for use in his book Cities under the gun. Most of the photographs were taken by George N. Barnard, official photographer for Gen. William T. Sherman, and T.M. Schleier.
